Testing Authorize.net new order email?

I am having trouble finding if I can test a new order email before going live. Is it possible to do this. I have a number of roles that would allow members to access different information on the website depending on their role.
I would like to send emails customized for each role, but I want to be able to test it before going live.

Can I do this?
