 * I have a new blog in which I am putting all content on the front page, and then
   they are separated by categories. I want to leave the blog roll as is, but I 
   want to take my obituaries off the front page and start them on my “obituary”
   page. I don’t like the fact people log onto the front page and see a bunch of
   obituaries on the front. It’s a downer.

 * You would need to add a custom query to your theme’s index.php template that 
   would exclude the obituary category.
