# Text editor issues

 * I have been building a website from a theme for a client, and I ran into a problem
   today of the text editor not working for posts and pages. I’m not sure when this
   occurred, but it has been a recent change.
 * Specifically, I can edit text and layout in the Visual editor, but the Text tab
   will not switch to the HTML view. Also, all but the “Link” button works. I can
   turn hyperlinks into regular text, but I cannot turn text into a hyperlink.
 * I’m assuming that it has to do with my theme because the functions are fixed 
   when I switch to the default WordPress theme.
 * Any help would be very much appreciated!

 * Yes, if things work okay in the default theme, then it’s likely a theme issue.
   But you could also try deactivating your plugins in the “bad” theme to see if
   it’s a conflict there.

 * Yeah, I’ve determined it’s not my plugins either. Are there any specific “original”
   files that I could replace that may help? I’ve only altered the style.css file
   and some php files that control the website layout, but not the back end.

 * I’m in the process of trying to get the original files from my client because
   they purchased it and handed it over to me. Hopefully I can switch over to it
   and see if my changes have affected anything (which I’m sure it was something
   I did… just trying to narrow it down).

 * Commercial themes are not supported here, so hopefully you can get the files 
   and/or access to the developer’s support (TF includes that in the price of a 
   theme). Since we don’t have access to commercial themes, it’s pretty impossible
   to give much help.
