# Text editor/visual editor

 * Hi
    Am having problems with an affiliate page i set up. Have got all the images
   of the banners in place and the code beneath each banner to which an affiliate
   can place his affiliate link into and then paste the code to his site. The problem
   comes when i tested this code. I copied it and pasted it into the text editor
   on my wp page its not saving as html. The quotation mark (“) is changing from
   what looks like a straight one to an italic ons and then the link doesnt work.
   If i put the link in a text editor and change the italic looking quotation marks
   back to straight ones as they look in html then the link works again. Basically
   i need the link to stay as it is when transfered to an affiliates site. Would
   really appreciate some help with this am quite new to html so am really struggling.

 * The code that you’re providing should not be pasted into their site using the
   Visual editor, they would need to use the text editor.

    Yes thats correct. But when i update my affiliate page with the code on it
   it changes it. So when an affiliate copies whats on the page after they are copying
   a different code so it doesnt work

 * Ahhh, sorry. Try switching to code editor (fixing the quotes) and then wrapping
   your code in either `<pre>` or `<code>` tags.
