# Text Widgets view code editor

 * Hello,
 * since the Update to Version 4.8 **text-widgets** have the **visual-editor** and
   the actual text (source code) is only displayed in a second tab.
    The code however
   displayed in that **text-tab** is only translated from the visual tab and does
   no longer show hidden or non-displayed items (style=”display:none;”). Also some
   tags such as `<br />` will not appear at all. Does anyone know how to change 
   that back to a strict code based editor?

 * Sigh. Yup. That’s how Text widgets work now. I don’t know if there’s a plugin
   yet to make it behave the previous way, but the current plan is to introduce 
   a dedicated code widget in 4.8.1, some time in the not too distant future.
