I just tested this and I can’t replicate it.
Perhaps the download was corrupted somehow?
Can you please try deleting your local copy and re-install?
Let me know if this is still an issue for you.
Hmmm it seems that after I install it I get that message
The plugin does not have a valid header.
not when I activate it. And I am downloading it from the plugin page as well as downloading it from the plugin install page.
I even tried installing it on a remote site that has never had the plugin before. Weird.
OK so I have tried everything. I downloaded the plugin from WordPress and uploaded, then activated it. Still get the same error.
I also followed the info here https://github.com/aristath/kirki-helpers, still the same problem.
Here is a link to the screenshot I took and I also highlighted the word kirki for you: https://www.dropbox.com/s/nz0j3tcvgyx8rzk/kirki-screen.png?dl=0
I’ve tried it with WP 4.8 as well as WP 4.9-alpha-40950 same thing.
So I don’t think this is resolved. Even though you cannot replicate the error doesn’t mean it’s not an issue. Just trying to help.
Huh… Actually your screenshot was really helpful!
Apparently it was trying to activate the wrong file. If you look at the URL in your screenshot you’ll see that it was trying to activate a file in kirki/lib/aricolor.php instead of the main plugin file in kirki/kirki.php
I uploaded a fix just now, it should be available shortly.
I was able to replicate the issue by installing the plugin from the dashboard, and then clicking on the “activate” link right after the plugin was installed, on a site that was using a theme that already had Kirki enabled.
If I try to enable the plugin from the normal plugins screen or on a site without a theme that already has kirki enabled I don’t have this issue – which is why I was unable to replicate this initially.
Awesome, glad you were able to get that corrected.
