 * The Theme Blocks getting started documentation says:
 * > These blocks are readily available within the Gutenberg editor, with nothing
   > to activate or configure.
 * It would have saved me some time and effort if it properly indicated that these
   blocks **require the Blocksy Companion**.
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Ftheme-blocks-getting-started%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

 * Hello [@erichi](https://wordpress.org/support/users/erichi/)
 * Thank you for the heads up. I will add a note on that page as soon as possible.
 * P.S.: Just as a note. The blocks were previously in the main theme, but due to
   new development guidelines for software published on WordPress’ store, we had
   to move them to the Companion plugin. 🙂

 * Thanks for the reply.
 * I figured that the extra blocks used to be part of the theme, as I have seen
   this kind of architecture change forced on other theme authors. I would have
   installed the Companion sooner, but the base theme had been meeting my needs
   very well until recently.

 * Hello [@erichi](https://wordpress.org/support/users/erichi/)
 * To be honest, it is a double edged sword kind of a situation. We believe that
   Blocksy alone (as just the theme) is an incomplete package – that’s the reason
   why we show a simple banner when only the theme is detected, to invite users
   to download the Companion plugin and benefit from the complete Blocksy feature
   package.
 * In our internal telemetry (manually grabbed data, no tracking!) we have found
   that most, if not all, of our users already have the Companion plugin installed,
   as per the recommendation made in the dashboard. And when I wrote that article,
   I did not think to mention that since it would’ve seem like an obvious choice.
 * But in any case, thanks for the heads up! 🙂
 * Take care.
