    Hi,

I frequently use the Theme Editor feature (under “Appearance”) to edit the PHP files in my child theme.

However, with WP Cerber enabled, I cannot save my changes because the loopback request to the WordPress plausability check is blocked.

Is there another way to allow this than to whitelist the webserver’s own IP?

    Cheers,
    Sascha

    Hi!

Normally the plugin doesn’t block Theme Editor.

When the plugin blocks a request, it writes detailed information to the Activity log. So when those blocks occur, go to the Activity tab, find your IP address, check the Events logged. You’ll see the reason.

Unfortunately the activity tab does not give a reason WHY it considered the access to the theme file a malicious request. Here’s what it says for the respective timestamp:

    176.9.89.148 host76.checkdomain.de 14. März 2019, 11:22
    Malicious request denied IP blacklisted
    URL: hundebetten.shop/

The IP address is the web server’s own address. After I whitelisted it I could edit the file as usual.

It clearly tells: “IP blacklisted”. That means that the IP address was in the Black IP Access List at that moment.

OK, I thought that blacklisting was the consequence, not the cause…
