 * Clean install of WP 5.0 on Ubuntu 18.04. Site works but when the Twenty Nineteen
theme is activated the site display is totally broken. Looks like the images
are not displayed among other issues. I enabled debug but got nothing. Switching
to Twenty Seventeen allows the site to display correctly. I would expect that
on a clean install the new theme work just work.

 * Perhaps this is a caching issue. If not, can you provide us a link to see the
   problem?

 * Does not appear to be caused by caching.

 * That kind of looks right to me, when comparing it to the general styles of the
   theme’s demo: [https://2019.wordpress.net/](https://2019.wordpress.net/)

 * interesting because my site does not look like the demo at all.
 * Here is a screen capture of what I’m seeing: [http://wittfamily.com/images/site-err.jpg](http://wittfamily.com/images/site-err.jpg)
 * Notice that the graphics are missing. I’ve tried this on various browsers and
from various PC and I see the same result everywhere.

 * Twenty Nineteen doesn’t ship with any content. What you have in your screenshot
is exactly what I’d expect from a fresh install.
 * You have to build out the rest yourself. 🙂
 * See the documentation for some other useful bits of info: [https://codex.wordpress.org/Twenty_Nineteen](https://codex.wordpress.org/Twenty_Nineteen)

 * [@weswitt](https://wordpress.org/support/users/weswitt/) We were bitten by that
   too! Assumed it was broken.
 * All the other default WP themes have a preview thumbnail, so you assume twenty
nineteen also would look like the theme thumb – like twenty seventeen.
 * So as soon as you install or activate you assume the images are missing or a
CSS issue. Guess it just mirrors the whole experience of the 5.0 WordPress release
   🙁
 * I personally even checked Apache logs, turned on debug, put browser in developer
mode. Goes to show you something felt missing and broken. Still does. I don’t
know what happen to WordPress, but since 5.x just not the same awesome feeling.
   Sad really.

 * Demos and screenshots show you what the theme _can_ be, not the what the theme
will be on a fresh installation with no content or configuration, this is how
_all_ theme demos and screenshots work around here, even the one for Twenty Seventeen.
 * Adding content and setting up the theme is _your_ responsibility, the only difference
between Twenty Seventeen and Twenty Nineteen in this regard is that this time
   we have documentation: [https://wordpress.org/support/article/twenty-nineteen/](https://wordpress.org/support/article/twenty-nineteen/)
 * I’m sorry you had a bad experience with that, but if you are expecting a fresh
theme installation to auto-populate images and content, you are mistaken about
   all WordPress themes.
