# [Theme: Lightword] Changing sidebar width

 * Hi guys, this has been discussed in the following post but there was never an
   answer:

 * I wanted to use the “wide” option in the Lightword template, but I wanted to 
   make the sidebar wider as well (meaning, for it to take up more space). I noticed
   that the theme uses background images, so I’m not sure if this has anything to
   do with my inability to change the width.
 * I messed with the width settings in the content tags of the stylesheet.css, but
   all it does is hide the widgets in the sidebar (without moving them to the left).
 * Was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. My site is [http://www.nokturnalist.com](http://www.nokturnalist.com).

 * apart from changing the css (which is the easy part) it involves editing a lot
   of background images.

 * Hey thanks for the response. To be honest, I figured that (which is why I included
   the part with the background images). Maybe if I have some downtime (yea right)…
   I’ll fiddle with the background images in Photoshop.
 * Or… find a theme that doesn’t use background images! thanks again.
