• Hi,

I’m Linda To, fashion designer from Belgium
    My website is http://www.atelierlindato.com.
    I have 3 questions.
I’m struggling for a month now how to figure it out.

1/ I have just started my own website using the structure theme. I’ve installed this theme into my own database. How come that the layout on the free xxxx.wordpress.com with structure theme looks different than if I install it myself (I have the latest version)? The one from wordpress looks a lot better organised (?). I’m really scratching my head over here…

2/ Also, on my homepage, the “home” button (as a page) cannot be displayed or found anywere whereas in the original wordpress theme on the free website “home” was displayed as a page. On my current website the “home” cannot be found as a page but as a “click” into the banner…

3/ I’m also wondering how come the pages on my homepage don’t work as of page 5 ? (htp 404 error)

I don’t know anything about the codex codes, and only uses the functions which are ready to be set “on” or “off”… I hope someone can help me!

Themes on wordpress.com have often been significantly modified compared to their originals available elsewhere. As Structure in not a WPORG theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s developers – paid or otherwise. We only support themes downloaded from ww.wp.xz.cn here.

Hello Esmi, thank for your response.
I’ve changed the amount of posts from 1 to 5 into my homepage as an alternative. Still figuring out the “home” button…It’s just weird that once installed, nothing is the same as it was “used” to be on my other xxx.wordpress.com free website. I felt like the free one was much easier to work with, everything was all set to be used. Now I have to figure it out to make it work like the original free one.

If I have to put that much time into it, I wouldn’t self-host it. I didn’t know installing all the plugins is now 80% of disk-space (then again I only have 50 MB for 1 year).

Anyway, thanks for your quick response.

    Kind regards,Linda
