# Theme Update

 * Hi,
 * I need to update the theme on my production website. In Appearance>>Themes,I 
   see two versions of theme. One is Parent theme (Inactive) and other is Child 
   Theme (Active Theme). So, Which Theme (Parent or Child) do I need to update without
   losing any customization and settings ?
 * If Parent, then do I need to activate that and update or any other option ?
 * Will appreciate your help and response.
