 * I’m about to rebuild my site and the maker of the new theme I’ve chosen just
told me the following regarding this plugin:
 * > I took a quick look at that plugin and I recommend you do not use it. It uses
   > a library called TimThumb, which is [no longer being maintained](http://www.binarymoon.co.uk/2014/09/timthumb-end-life/).
 * Can you please kindly explain the status of this issue?

 * The latest version of the plugin doesn’t use timthumb by default. It uses WordPress’
inbuilt image system to create cropped images. You have a good interface to either
choose existing image sizes (e.g. that your theme creates) or create your very
   own image size.

 * Timthumb is still bundled in the plugin because many users have been using this
in the past. It will be removed in the next version.
 * If you’re concerned with timthumb being on your server, just delete the folder
   from within top-10.
 * You need to make sure you don’t select the option in the Settings page then. (
   disabled by default)

 * I’m not a technical guy, so no idea how to compare yours with this one, but you
might be able to get some ideas from it.
