# Threaded Comments

 * I have been using Brian’s Threaded Comments, but, hasn’t worked in a while, and
   has been deprecated. I want to be able to use threaded comments at my site.
 * The theme I am using is Violator. When I am running the stock comments PHP, there
   is no ability to reply to a comment and have it nest underneath, even when turned
   on under Settings>discussion.
 * Some of the default themes that come with WordPress self hosted have this ability,
   some do not. For instance, WordPress Default does, WP Classic does not. Like 
   this (hopefully this works)

 * I’m trying to figure out what script makes this happen, and where. I’m not seeing
   anything in the Comments PHP.
 * Any ideas?

 * what is the code of comments.php of your theme?
 * in more recent themes, threaded comments are generally done via [https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_list_comments](https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_list_comments)

 * I’ll check the code using those functions. Just wasn’t seeing anything that made
   that happen in lots of different php’s, including comments
