 * I have a quote request form, and am using mail (2) as an auto responder email
featuring a link that invites a client to submit additional information / attachments
via another form. Everything is working, but it’s generating separate threads
and I’m hoping to have the emails all as a single thread. I think the cause is
that the second form has no relationship to the first, and identical subjects
aren’t enough. Is there any way around this?

 * Where can we see the website in question?

 * Thank you for your reply. The website is [https://www.rusnakmasonry.com/request-quote/](https://www.rusnakmasonry.com/request-quote/).

This form generates an autoreply using mail (2) which is sent by a Google Workspace
Gmail API connection. The autoreply invites the form submitter to enter in more
   details on [https://rusnakmasonry.com/details](https://rusnakmasonry.com/details),
which is a separate ContactForm7 form.
 * What’s happening is that two separate email chains are being created in the company’s
inbox, and I’m really hoping to find a solution that keeps it all in one thread.
I believe that this is happeningbecause seaparate message IDs are being created
for each email that’s being generated, and there aren’t any referal IDs being
   shared between those.
 * Thank you again for responding. Please let me know if you have any questions.

 * See [Setting up mail](https://contactform7.com/setting-up-mail/)
 * What email settings do you have in the Mail tab panel?
 * To protect personal data, hiding email addresses in the settings or replacing
them with dummy addresses is strongly advised. You can also [include screenshots](https://wordpress.org/support/forum-user-guide/faq/#can-i-include-screenshots-or-videos).

 * Hi, thank you again. I’ve #####’d out actual email addressed, and have included
   3 screenshots:
    1. The initial form settings: [https://imgur.com/a/3zCAHEp](https://imgur.com/a/3zCAHEp)
    2. The initial form autoresponder settings: [https://imgur.com/a/ECjs0Iw](https://imgur.com/a/ECjs0Iw)
    3. The separate form settings (which is the additional details request): [https://imgur.com/a/jxaSNp8](https://imgur.com/a/jxaSNp8)
 * I’ve tried to keep the subject line the same, but I think the separate message
IDs are creating new threads in my client’s inbox.
 * Thanks for your help with this.

 * From my personal experience with Gmail, it seems to combine messages into a single
thread if the messages have the same set of the sender address, the recipient
address, and the message subject line. Seemingly it is the case as far as I can
see in the screenshots, but I’m not sure since they are just screenshots. There
might be differences hard to find.

 * I’m still not having any luck here. We’ve resolved to forego the second form,
and ask for the additional details by email using the mail (2) feature. That
said, it seems to be creating a separate thread from the original inquiry email
from the customer. Am I doing something wrong?
