I followed the instructions and created a project and setup billing. The maps thumbnail image in the widget section though is broken.

Any advice on what seems to be the issue?

I had a look at your site and the thumbnail map shows up fine.
Try opening it in an incognito window to rule out any problems with the local cache.

I disabled yours and used an “embed” widget instead. I re-enabled your widget in the 2nd widget slot. Can you take a look again?

It’s a billing issue – “The Google Maps Platform server rejected your request. You must enable Billing on the Google Cloud Project at https://console.cloud.google.com/project/_/billing/enable Learn more at https://developers.google.com/maps/gmp-get-started”
