In Fusion Grid, thumbnails are generated and displayed based on the layout configuration and screen resolution. The gallery automatically detects the device (including retina screens) and tries to serve the most appropriate image size.
If thumbnails look blurry on retina displays, here are a few things to check:
Make sure the original images are large enough (at least 2× the display size for retina screens).
- Layout Settings
In Fusion Grid, thumbnail size depends on the column width and layout type, smaller thumbnails may look less sharp if the source image is limited.
- Image Optimization Plugins
This is a common cause, some optimization or compression plugins may reduce image quality or resize images too aggressively, affecting thumbnails. Try temporarily disabling them to test.
- Caching
Clear all caches (browser, plugin, CDN) after any changes.
Rebuilding thumbnails in WordPress doesn’t always affect how the gallery generates and serves images, since Robo Gallery uses its own logic for responsive rendering. If you’d like, send us a link to your gallery, we can check exactly how images are being served and suggest the best settings for crisp retina display.
