# ‘Time’ bug with plugin.

 * Every event submitted has the time presented wrongly after publish.
 * for example: [02:00 PM – 5:00 PM] turns into [10:00 PM – 1:00 AM]
 * There has been a recent update on the timezones which has likely caused this
   bug.
 * I have gone into the settings and done all I can to keep my timezone to Taipei
   Taiwan in every setting.
 * Enable Timezone Support? = NO
 * Default Location Country = TAIWAN
 * Reset Timezones = (Tried: Taipei, UTC +8 hours) then reset all events to this.
 * All has not worked at all. and the bug is still in place with no help at all.
 * How do I keep the times the same after entering them in the event? (when I say
   1pm, it to be 1pm… not to turn out something like 5AM…)
 * **Many of my users are deleting and redoing the events, others I have now lost.
 * Please help! 🙁

 * Do events still show up wrong after resetting your timezones? I just tried that
   locally and it worked for me… the times of your events shouldn’t change, the
   main difference now is we store the UTC equivalent time of all events in a different
   field.
 * I think I’d have to take a closer look at your site. Could you please get in
   touch with me here – [http://wp-events-plugin.com/contact-us/](http://wp-events-plugin.com/contact-us/)–
   please mention this URL so we know it’s you.

 * Do events still show up wrong after resetting your timezones? = Yes, no matter
   what I do, it’s all pushed 8hrs forward.

 * This has caused a huge issue for me. WP and EM are all set to Taipei (which is
   UTC+8).
 * There is a connection between this bug and the city i’m in. It is appreciating
   i am in Taipei which is UTC +8, and simply pushing everything 8hrs ahead anyway.
 * why this is a bug? Because I have everything set to Taipei in my WP and plugin.
   yet, still causes an issue.
 * Please help me 🙁

 * I’ve replied. We can work it out there and I’ll report back here for posterity
   once we figure it out.

 * For anyone else reading and experiencing this sort of problem, please try dev
   version 5.9.0.1. It’s pretty much 5.9 with a small tweak or two which will hopefully
   fix this problem.
 * You can upgrade to EM dev versions via your WP dashboard, [see these instructions](http://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/upgrade-dev-version/).
 * The issue with others when they’re using either/or is likely due to an offending
   line of code in a plugin/theme, still verifying exactly what it could be.
 * The gist is that a line of code somewhere is using date_default_timezone_set()
   to set a different timezone. WP does this right at the start, setting it to UTC
   in wp-settings.php, and in theory nothing else should alter the timezone (or
   at least set it back afterwards).
