Time In Posts

hey, so i coded in this,

</time> <?php the_time ?> | <?php the_time('g:i a'); ?>

and it works, but for some reason, if the post is not published like on the hour say 9:00, then the time sort of comes up not on the same line.

For ex,

http://bostonamigos.com/the-definite-backyard-baseball-starting-9/

The last 8 is on too high up…

Any idea what that may be?
