 * I’m located at +8UTC so i have to set “Times in the blog should should differ”:
   +8
    right?
 * But with that, my calendar’s time and even my countdown will be 8hrs advanced…
example it’s 00:00UTC so the curent time i’m in will be 08:00 but for the calendar
   the time will be 16:00
 * why is it like that?

 * Is your server in the same timezone as yourself?

 * You need to adjust the time dif to the dif between where you are and where the
server is most likely. F’rinstance, I’m in UTC -7, and on my local server that’s
the change I need to make. But my host servers online are at UTC -6 instead,
so that’s what I put in the box for the change…. (Note that there’s two displays
of the time on the options page where you make the change: one which shows UTC
time now, and one which shows current time on-server. I should also have said,
I opt on one of my blogs to ignore server time and display my current local time,
since I don’t have anything server-time-dependant running on that blog….)

 * That’s exactly what I have in my mind when asked that question, but vkaryl did
a much better job in explaining what you have to do than I could do 🙂

 * er, sorry.. I still don’t get it. if i’m not mistaken my servers are at -4GMT
   and I’m at +8GMT what i’ll put?

 * Do you want to see post times where YOU are, or where your servers are? Once
you make that decision, then that’s the time differential you input.

 * Okay, so you want your blog to display post times at +8 UTC, because that’s where
you are and where you post from, right?
 * If you input +8 in the offset box, what happens?

 * wp has calendar right? so i’m using it. plus, i installed a plugin that displays
a countdown. then, for example it’s oct30, 16:00 (+8GMT)… the time in my calendar
and my countdown is going to be oct31, 01:00AM.. it’s 8hrs advanced in my current
   time.
 * PS: i don’t think it’s the plugin that has the problem because i’ve got this
   problem ages ago.

 * Eww. Okay…. I see the problem but I have no idea on a solution.
 * Time is right except it’s pm instead of am in the calendar and countdown so they’re
12 hours ahead…. do the calendar and countdown you’re using have separate areas
   for setup?

 * i’m using the template tags for the calendar. the countdown is a plugin… i put
their template tags in my sidebar.php

 * Is this the countdown plugin from Owen Winkler? I have to tell you I have ZERO
   experience with template tags….

 * Yes, from Owen Winkler
 * `<?php get_calendar(); ?>`
I’m using the above template tag to show my calendar
