# Timeout Error on certain posts

 * Hello, after updating 15.1.1 I got timeout errors on certain pages when Yoast
   is enabled. When Yoast is disabled, these frontend pages works perfectly.
 * I upgraded to 15.2, but nothing changed.
 * I then tried the solution recommended from your staff in other tickets:
    –> Yoast
   Helper Plugin –> Reset Reset indexables tables & migrations button –> Speed up
   my Site button, but I got this message: “Oops, something has gone wrong and we
   couldn’t complete the optimization of your SEO data. Please click the button
   again to re-start the process.”
 * Today I tried again to update to the newest 15.2.1 version, but again no results.
 * Everything is in place: WordPress and all plugins are updated to the latest version
   and the issue. My host is Siteground. I also tried the default theme, but again
   no results. The problem only and always desappear disabling yoast plugin.
 * This is very frustrating.
 * Can you please help me with an effective solution?

 * Hello [@bobbyrobino](https://wordpress.org/support/users/bobbyrobino/),
 * Thanks for reaching out.
 * Regarding the timeout errors, can you please confirm that your website meets
   the plugin requirements? For more information on all of the plugin requirements,
   you can refer to this article — [https://yoast.com/help/plugin-requirements/](https://yoast.com/help/plugin-requirements/).
 * Furthermore, you mentioned that resetting the indexables and migrations table
   does not resolve the issue with the SEO Data Optimization tool and deactivating
   the plugin only resolves the error.
 * We do not want you to deactivate the plugin. This type of issue is usually caused
   by a conflict with another plugin, which breaks the analysis. Just to be sure,
   we would like to rule out any plugin or theme conflicts that may occur. We recommend
   using the [Health Check & Troubleshooting](https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/)
   plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check **without affecting normal
   visitors to your site**.
 * As we can imagine that you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like
   to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process:
   [How to check for plugin conflicts](https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts/).

 * Hi Maybellyne, thanks for your help.
 * – Yes, the website meets all the plugin requirements
    – I tried the Health Check&
   Troubleshooting plugin following the guide. I sadly confirm that with default
   theme and only Yoast activated, the issue persist.
 * I don’t want to uninstall Yoast, so I really hope in your precious help for solving
   this major issue.

   reply and for confirming those items. Can you please let us know what the specific
   error is that you receive when the timeout occurs?

 * Hi Carl, thanks for your reply. More info below:
 * – I get a “**504 Gateway Timeout**“.
 * – In the “error log” I found 2 different errors:
 * **1)** [:warn] Timeout waiting for output from CGI script /home/mysite/public_html/
   index.php … (this happen when I try to open one of these “unreacheable” pages,
   causing the 504 error mentioned above).
 * **2)** [:notice] mod_hive matched URI [http://mysite.com/wp-login.php](http://mysite.com/wp-login.php)(/
   home/mysite/public_html/wp-login.php) with match 2 …. (this log only happen when
   I go into the main “SEO” option in the backend, but despite this message, I can
   surf into all Yoast options).
 * Server side everything is fine. The website is not big (3-400 pages). Everything
   works perfectly only disabiling yoast.
 * Thank you for your help.

 * [@bobbyrobino](https://wordpress.org/support/users/bobbyrobino/) Thanks for your
   reply and for providing the error details. A 504 error typically occurs when
   one server is trying to communicate with another but doesn’t receive a response
   in a timely fashion. Are you able to provide the URL of one of the pages where
   the issue occurs?
 * Also, are there any plugins that are specifically used on the pages in question?
   Or anything that differentiates them from pages where you aren’t seeing the error?

 * Hi,
 * – No special plugins or special configuration used for the affected pages. Just
   content+images as many other pages that works perfectly.
 * Here you have a couple of examples:
 * – [https://bit.ly/369tDqP](https://bit.ly/369tDqP) (currently unreacheable due
   to yoast)
    – [https://bit.ly/3k3SBg6](https://bit.ly/3k3SBg6) (currently unreacheable
   due to yoast)
 * Currently yoast is activated, so these pages are unreacheables right now.
    Let
   me know if you need me to deactivate yoast at some point.
 * Thank you very much for your help!

 * We are sorry to hear that you are still experiencing the 504 gateout timeout
   error. We understand when you disable the Yoast SEO plugin, the relevant issue
   no longer persists on certain pages on your site.
 * Can you please confirm whether you have performed the SEO data optimization from
   the SEO → Tools page after resetting the Indexables tables and migrations by
   using the Yoast Test Helper plugin?
 * If not, can you please complete the SEO data optimization to see whether this
   resolves the issue for you?
 * We look forward to hearing from you.

 * As I explained in my first post, I already did this reset and then the optimization
   process, but I got the message: “Oops, something has gone wrong and we couldn’t
   complete the optimization of your SEO data. Please click the button again to
   re-start the process.”
 * In there any real solution for my problem or should I uninstall yoast and using
   another SEO plugin? :/

 * Thanks for your confirmation. We are afraid to say that we don’t have any specific
   solution available that we can offer you right now as this will need further
   investigation.
 * So, we think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further
   but are unable to do so on these forums. You can [purchase Yoast SEO Premium](https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/)
   and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.

 * My web works perfectly. All requirements are in place. As explained, the issue
   is only yoast related (tested using this plugin only, as Maybelline suggested).
 * Furthermore the issue is **NOT limited to my site**, since I spotted other cases
   like mine in that forum, unresolved. This is a real problem to tackle from your
   side.
 * I’m **very disappointed** and very frustraded.
 * Since you are not able to solve this issue, I’m going to **uninstall yoast**
   after years in favour of other SEO plugins.

 * Yoast 15.2.1 got my site broken as well. I have woocommerce installed.
    Keep
   on getting 503 Timeout. I disabled Yoast and everything work. Instead of keeping
   defensive approach it would be great if you could try to investigate a solution.

 * [@bobbyrobino](https://wordpress.org/support/users/bobbyrobino/) We understand
   your concern. We definitely want to investigate it further but we were unable
   to reproduce it on our end and as such, we think it’s something specific to your
   setup. If we are unable to reproducing something on our end, it’s very hard to
   find a fix for it.
 * Since this is a public forum, we cannot do really much about it. However, we
   do offer private support through email only to premium subscribers. So, if you
   can consider it, we can definitely look into this further directly on your site.
   If we find something that we should fix in the plugin, we can definitely do it.
 * [@gabrielefortunato](https://wordpress.org/support/users/gabrielefortunato/)
   As mentioned already above, we need to be able to reproduce an issue before we
   can find a fix for it and we were unable to do so on a fresh WordPress installation
   yet. If you can reproduce the issue on a fresh WordPress installation, please
   do feel free to let us know the exact steps to reproduce the issue and we’d be
   more than happy to deep into this further on our end.
 * We hope that clarifies the concern.

 * You could just check what you changed from 15.2 to 15.2.1 there is something
   that generates the error.
 * I rolled back to 15.2 and it works.
 * I guess you can try to check the changes and try to figure out what can generate
   the issue. it breaks the wc-ajac completely.
 * Thanks

   As mentioned already, we have tried to reproduce the issue but we couldn’t as
   the issue doesn’t occur on a fresh WordPress installation.
 * That said if you experiencing the same issue as well, please open a new topic
   with as much information as you could possibly provide to us so that we can try
   reproducing the issue again on our end.

 * Md Mazedul Islam Khan, I understand that if you are not able to easily reply
   the error, you can’t fix it.
    But as I said, in that forum there are other people
   claiming about timeout error with the latest versions of the plugin. Gabriele
   is another example of this. It’s an evidence that you can’t hide forever, this
   is not a casual error from just one user. So it should be seriously investigated
   by your developers in any case, otherwise other people, like I already did, will
   uninstall Yoast sooner than later.
 * Cheers,
 * A disappointed ex-user of Yoast.
