# Tiny MCE Plugin actions not working?

 * I’m trying to customize the Tiny MCE buttons via a plugin following this:
    [http://codex.wordpress.org/TinyMCE_Custom_Buttons](http://codex.wordpress.org/TinyMCE_Custom_Buttons)
 * But nothing works. I’ve even added some code to the core to log every action 
   and filter as they are called, and nowhere on the list of actions or filters 
   does an event named “mce_buttons” occur. It seems to be just some randomly named
   filter that has no bearing on reality.
 * Can anyone shed some light on this?
