Title: Today Update Error Last modified: September 20, 2019 --- # Today Update Error * Resolved [luca.marino](https://wordpress.org/support/users/lucamarino-1/) * (@lucamarino-1) * [6 years, 8 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/today-update-error/) * Hello, I let your plugin active but there is a disturbing error message on every page (backend and frontend) that has been generated by the today update of the plugin. * I need urgently a workaround to avoid these messages to appear, thanks: * Warning: fopen(/web/htdocs/www.mujic.org/home/wp-content/plugins/give-recurring/ give-recurring.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /web/ htdocs/www.mujic.org/home/wp-includes/functions.php on line 5568 * Warning: fread() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /web/htdocs/ www.mujic.org/home/wp-includes/functions.php on line 5571 * Warning: fclose() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /web/htdocs/ www.mujic.org/home/wp-includes/functions.php on line 5574 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Ftoday-update-error%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US) to see the link]_ Viewing 7 replies - 1 through 7 (of 7 total) * [meerkatweb](https://wordpress.org/support/users/meerkatweb/) * (@meerkatweb) * [6 years, 8 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/today-update-error/#post-11951879) * We’re having a similar issue which seems to be related to Give looking for the Recurring Donations add-on * After updating to Give 2.5.6, an error message displays forcing a rollback to version 2.5.4 as it’s not finding the recurring subscriptions add-on (we’ve never used this) * It appears that you can’t update to the latest free Give version, without actually having the paid add-on ‘Recurring Donations’! * We do not have the Recurring Donations Add-On, as we do not require this, (or to be correct, it would be nice to have, but the charity doesn’t have budget for it currently) – and so we are just using Give in free mode, like thousands of charity clients.
