• I’m on a VPS with 256 MB of Ram and it keeps crashing due to running out of memory. My blog has got a fairly large Cache, but I’m thinking 256 MB of memory is far more than should be needed to host a blog.

Here’s the problem, I think. My wife has intalled several blogs, all in the same database.

You took our main site, a site for short stories and poems, a site for a business, her advice column, and my blog, and has them all in the same database. Could creating a seperate database and dividing the blogs up solve this problem.

    1. Wait longer than 6 hours before bumping.

    2. 256 megs should be more than enough. I’d say that you have your database configured wrong somehow.

    3. No, splitting them up will not solve the problem.

I’d suggest looking closely at the database setup, and seeing if the memory usage is misconfigured somehow.

You could try that, but since when wp querys the database it only does so on the tables within the table prefix that was defined it really shouldn’t matter.
