• I manage my content, and do not use code. I have a developer for that. I was extremely comfortable with the older version. I added pages and posts. I found it easy to change font colors and eliminate borders from images. With the new update I am totally frustrated. I try to edit images, and add “border: 0pt none;” and I cannot make the “ok” button work to apply the change. I cannot change color of the fonts. I don’t want to learn code or call the developer every time I post. I want my functionality back. Help!!

  • I too was very comfortable with the previous version, and am disappointed with the ‘update’.

In particular, the disappearance of the option to include individual buttons in the TinyMCE toolbar for adding or deleting rows and columns from tables (can still be done through frustrating multiple click on menus) and the option to change the color of table cells in the advanced cell editing area. I am back to doing this by editing the html again – avoiding which is the whole reason for the plugin!

Though these issues do seem to be a restriction of WP and TinyMCE, rather than TinyMCE Advanced, as all similar plugins have lost these features.

Shame – these features (and other non-html editing options) were making WordPress a real option for non-technical users.

I guess they will all be heading back over to Google Sites, Weebly, etc.

I believe your grudge is with TinyMCE version 4.0. Unfortunately I cannot add things to TinyMCE Advanced that don’t exist in TinyMCE…
