Tracking Code and Universa Analytics

Hi, super noob here. I’ve never seen Google Analytics until last night. I’m really excited to learn how to use it.

I just have a couple general questions. After activating the plugin last night, registering with my google account, etc., I get back on today to see my status as ‘tracking not installed’. I was able to see real-time data, however. I poked around the web some and saw a post where the person said to uncheck ‘Enable Universal tracking’ in Yoast settings. Once I did that, the status changed to ‘tracking installed’. I then re-checked ‘Enable Universal tracking’ and so far, the status is still ‘tracking installed’. Also, I never inserted the tracking code into my header.php. I do not need to do this because I am using Yoast, correct? I should start seeing data soon?

Also, I do not see the option to upgrade to universal analytics. Does this mean my account is already using it?
