# Transfer Website

 * So I recently tried – for the first time – to move my website to a new domain
   name. I made a few mistakes and now I have issues (to say the least!)
 * I backed up my files – so that is good.
 * 1. I created new directory where I wanted the files to move to.
    2. I moved the
   files 3. I installed WordPress to that directory. 4. I uninstalled the old WordPress(
   opps!) 4. I log on to the new wordpress site and do not see my content or redesign
   of the theme. I do however see that my theme, Diarise, is installed.
 * Question – Why is my content not active and modified design also missing? Please
   help!

 * I am missing something. Since I deleted my old install, I cannot go and and change
   the URL. I am an idiot. But their has got to be a way, right?

 * I went into the wp-config.php and don’t see where I am suppose to edit the old
   url to the new. I don’t see the old URL at all.

 * OH – and I am not changing servers. Same server. Just different directory.

 * Yes. All the customizations I made to the css are there, but the settings and
   content that i designed within the WordPress Framework are gone.

 * I am searching the file folder. Where do your posts get stored? They do get sent
   to your server, right?

 * Your content is stored in your database. Are you still connecting to the same
   database?

 * yes. Although I did move the files into a different directory. Same server. By
   database you mean hosting server, right?

 * No. I mean a database that was set up when you originally installed WordPress.

 * Not necessarily. Did you use some sort of 1-click uninstall provided by your 
   hosts?

 * Yes, simple scripts.

 * Check to see if simple script kept a backup of your database. If necessary, contact
   your hosts for assistance.
