Hello – I am considering a paid SEO plugin but have been using Yoast on my site for many years. Instead of going with the paid version of Yoast, I was recommended to check out this plugin instead. How easy is the transition from Yoast to SEO Framework? Will all existing SEO data transfer over seamlessly?

    Thank you

    Hello!

I’m afraid the transition isn’t seamless. In effect, we recommend not to bother migrating unless you absolutely must.

Please see our migration guide for details. Near the end, we list caveats.

The issues are solvable manually, and the “SEO Bar” highlights them prominently in red. Via WordPress’s built-in Quick-Edit (hover over a post in the list-view to find the button), you can quickly fix the titles. An average typist should be able to take care of this within half an hour on a site the size of yours.

We’re planning to include a migration tool that takes care of the caveats. I’m not sure how long it’ll take before it’s ready, however. https://github.com/sybrew/the-seo-framework/issues/548

I hope this helps! Cheers 🙂
