    Hi,
first of all thank you for your great plugin and the chance to test the free version.
    there’s a problem i don’t know how to solve:
I don’t know how to access database files,
do I have to access from FTP? in wp-admin option as the errors claim?

sometimes the translated version don’t show and go back to the main language, but only in mobile version. do you think it can be related to those errors?

I’m thinking about buying the pro version but want to be sure these problems can be solved.

thanks in advance for your help,
    Giuditta

    Hello there,

Thank you for letting us know about your problem!

It’s possible your database user doesn’t have the permissions to create extra tables. Cand you check that with your hosting company? Ask them if plugins are allowed to create extra tables.

    Kind Regards,

thank you so much for your kind reply,

I already asked my hosting company a few days ago but they told me the database has all the right permissions. but I will check again with them as soon as possible.

I tried almost all the solutions, the only one I haven’t tried is to access the database to manually delete the tables as you suggest in “PLAN B”. I don’t know how to do it.

the real problem is that sometimes it doenst’t keep the english translation saved and turn back to italian, maybe after a few days when everything is going right.

now I have WP 5.7, last version of translatepress, elementor and astra updated.
I’m checking every few hours to see if it does it again.

anyway I would like to solve the problem to be sure the translation will stay in it’s place in the future

any suggestion of yours will be very welcome!

    thanks a lot!

    hello @anghelemanuel99,

I asked my hosting and they say the database has the permission to create tables.
they asked what are the requirements for translatepress to work at its best,

do you think I need to update php version to 7.4?
    and sql to 5.7?
if it could help resolving sql errors I will ask them to do it

now the plugin is working and the translation are not disappearing anymore but it still shows sql errors

    Hello again,

Can you tell me if the error date has changed or is still 22 March? Because if these errors are from that date they don’t matter.

The MYSQL version shouldn`t impact the functionality of the plugin.

Changing the default language will invalidate existing translations. We can’t keep them because the translations are directional and you’ll also need to change ALL your content directly in the new language.

The default language is the language your content was written in.

If you want another language to be the first language, then simply enable:

    * Use TranslatePress -> Settings -> Subdirectory for default language -> Yes
    * Reorder the languages

Not all detected strings are visible on the page. Strings like SEO Title, meta description, and sometimes other strings that don’t have an edit button can be found by simply searching the list of strings.

If there`s anything else, please let us know!

    Kind Regards,

hello @anghelemanuel99 thank you for your reply.

error date changes once or twice a day.

i didn’t change the default language, maybe I get the errors because the strings in the default language are broken lines = <br>
(I forced the text starting a new line beacause I didn’t like the alignment)
so the plugin wants to translate as if they were two different string of text:
not sure, I don’t know just guessing.

the plugin is working right now, just doing the job very well but I would like to understand why these SQL errors still occur and solve the issue.

    thanks again for your help
