# Transparency between posts

 * Hi,
 * So currently, I am using the Duster Theme (From Automattic) on [http://www.aerobeats.com](http://www.aerobeats.com).
   I really would like to add a transparent gap between my posts and sidebar, so
   you can see the background.

 * I’ve been looking at old posts about this subject, but I can’t get anything to
   work with the Duster theme. Please help!

 * try and use a tool such as Firebug for these kind of formatting problems, to 
   identify which styles to edit. [http://getfirebug.com/](http://getfirebug.com/)

 * start by removing the background color from the style of `#page`.
    then add a
   background color to `.post` or `.hentry` and to `.widget-area`
 * then you will see that the formatting needs quite a few modifications to make
   this look acceptable – right now, there is no padding for instance on the individual
   post divs and on the sidebar….
 * helping with fundamental formatting problems is beyond the scope of this WordPress
   forum.
