 * After I changed to have a static front page, the NS category tree in my sidebar
   is suddenly empty! How can I fix that?

 * I checked the plugin with the static front page and also in the 2021 default 
   theme and widget is working as expected.

 * I changed plugin, so I won’t be following up on this. Thanks for answering, though!
 * But another question: can your category tree have the posts themselves as outer
   leaves? Meaning that you can click a category and see a _listing_ of all posts
   in it, instead of getting a page with the posts themselves?
