# Trouble adding New Plugins

 * I made some recent changes after installing the WP_Download Manager and now whenever
   I try to insall any other plugin I get this error:
 * “Unable to create directory /uploads/2009/12. Is its parent directory writable
   by the server?”
 * No one has changed anything with the hosting and so the root directory should
   be writable.
 * How do I check and fix this.
 * Thanks.
 * btw – WP is awesome! I am learning so much,picked up HTML and Javascript, now
   I head onto php!
