 * Hello everyone,
 * First off, just to let you know I’m very inexperienced with webdesign, and this
   is my first time building a website so bare with me. I purchased a theme and
   also the yoast seo plugin. The theme designer said that the theme and yoast can
   conflict with each other when it comes to title tags, so he provided me with
   a line of code to insert at the end of the functions.php to resolve this. He
   also recommended I use the wp-editor plugin to make this easy to do.
 * The problem is that after I add the code and hit “update file,” it says that
   it updated successfully, but when I go back to check the code I added isn’t there
   anymore. I asked the theme designer about this and he asked if I have the files
   setup to be writeable on the server and then linked me to this:
 * [http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_Files#Things_You_Need_to_Know](http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_Files#Things_You_Need_to_Know)
 * From what I gather from that, I need to set the permission for the files to 666.
   So my question is, do you think that’s why it’s not working? Also, if that is
   the case, which files specifically to I need to give the 666 permission to? Thanks
   guys, I appreciate any help you can give me.

 * WordPress forums do not support commercial themes, you should contact your theme’s
   vendors.

 * Okay then just a general question… If I am going to edit a theme (commercial
   or otherwise,) do I need the files on my server to be set to 666? If so, which
   files?

 * Depends on your server. If you want to use the built-in theme editor, all files
   need to be group writable. If you do not want to use the built-in theme editor,
   all files can be writable only by your user account.
