 * Joan at WordPress/Automattic Support has sent me here regarding an Error Message
   I am getting.

 * After taking a look at this report, I can see Google is reporting that the following

 * Hello [@devin104](https://wordpress.org/support/users/devin104/), thanks for
opening a support topic. You have reached the Site Kit support forum here and
it looks like your issue is specifically related to a Pagespeed Insights report.
Looking at your site I don’t see anything that immediately stands out.
 * I’d be happy to check this further if you could share your[ Site Health information](https://i.imgur.com/Rtkmsba.png)
for one of the impacted sites. You can[ use this form](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1lhjns2K7c0Ny7ME4gxTcsnYtNUtcMr8BvFpPQi23Y1E/)
   to share privately if preferred.
 * Could you also confirm if this is having any impact on the Site Kit plugin for
your site or is all working as expected?

The existence of an issue with Site Kit is confirmed by Joan at WordPress Support.

WordPress Support referred me to Site Kit to repair this known issue which is endangering the security of my Site.

Below you will find my correspondence with WordPress Support.

After taking a look at this report, I can see Google is reporting that the following URL is not using the https secure protocol:

From what I see, this URL comes from the third-party ads that are displayed on your site. I'd suggest checking which providers are using and try to turn them off for a while to see if this URL is present or not on your site.

It seems you are using Google Ads as I saw this set up on the Site Kit plugin by Google:
       https://carljungdepthpsychologysite.blog/wp-admin/admin.php?page=googlesitekit-dashboard#monetization

In this case, you'll need to reach out to Google Ads support to ask why this insecure URL is being served.

        Thank you,

 * [@devin104](https://wordpress.org/support/users/devin104/) Thank you for following
back up and sharing the information. This is not a Site Kit related issue and
is related to AdSense itself. Site Kit only places AdSense code on a your site.
If ads are coming from Ad networks via the AdSense platform, and the resources
are not https, we recommend you reach out to the [AdSense Help Center](https://support.google.com/adsense/?hl=en-GB#topic=3373519)
for help with this as this isn’t Site Kit specific.
 * It’s also possible to block specific ad networks used in AdSense, if you find
an issue with where ads are coming from and how they are being served. See this
   page for more information: [https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/191270?hl=en](https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/191270?hl=en)
 * If there’s anything else Site Kit related that I can help with then I will be

 * [@devin104](https://wordpress.org/support/users/devin104/) I understand that
you were directed to us from the WordPress support forum however as I have stated
above to you, this is not an issue related to the Site Kit plugin and we can’t
therefor help with this as it is out of our hands.
 * Site Kit allows you to connect Google services such as Analytics and AdSense
by placing the necessary code for those services on your site meaning you don’t
have to do this manually yourself.
 * If you have any issues with the services themselves like in your case here, you
will need to speak with the experts at the [AdSense Help Center](https://support.google.com/adsense/?hl=en-GB#topic=3373519)
as they can check this for you. We are not placed to check your AdSense account
   and ads but they are.
 * I appreciate that you have this connected with Site Kit but the issue itself
is at the AdSense level. I hope this helps you to understand this.

 * Yesterday I contacted [AdSense Help Center](https://support.google.com/adsense/?hl=en-GB#topic=3373519)
   and am awaiting their reply.
 * I undestand that Site Kit provide providing Code for Google Services.
 * This does not exempt the possibility of Site Kit having an “Does not use HTTPS
   1 insecure request found.”
 * Interestingly after my last reply yesterday I reset Site Kit and my JetPack Boost
score instantly improved from 46 to 99.
 * I will report back once I get a further report from AdSense.
 * It is regretable that you would not consult with WordPress Support on this matter
and confirm with them that the issue was not Site Kit’s but rather that of AdSense.
 * Or alternatively, WP Support may have advised you as to if/why there may be an
error within the Site Kit plugin.
 * In any event, Tick Tock time will tell.

 * Sadly, I did not receive a reply from the AdSense Support Center.
 * There does appear to be a problem with Site Kite and JetPack Boost.
 * Using Site Kit my JetPack Dashboard Score is quite poor.
 * If I disable Site Kit plugin my JetPack Desktop Score improves to has high as
   98.
 * I do not know why this is but Site Kit is welcome to access my site and test
this out for themselves. I just need a secure method of getting access information
   to SiteKite.
 * Is using Site Kit mandatory for placing AdSense Ads on my WordPress Site?
 * I am already using the ads.txt manager plugins

 * > There does appear to be a problem with Site Kite and JetPack Boost.
 * If you’re using Google Analytics and/or AdSense, this will result in additional
network requests made between your website and these services, therefore there
will always be a performance trade-off, with many factors such as latency, your
web host, network related factors etc. This is the same as whether you place
the snippets manually or using Site Kit. You’ll find out more on this [here](https://sitekit.withgoogle.com/documentation/using-site-kit/front-end/).
 * I do not know why this is but Site Kit is welcome to access my site and test
this out for themselves. I just need a secure method of getting access information

 * As per WordPress support forum guidelines, we’re unable to login to users sites.
 * > Is using Site Kit mandatory for placing AdSense Ads on my WordPress Site?
 * Good question. Site Kit is not need to placing AdSense code on your site. You’ll
find other plugins that can be used to place AdSense code, or you can place the
   code manually. [Here’s a good starting guide](https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/9274634?hl=en&sjid=14270252222906229638-EU&visit_id=638525876964654274-3324369756&ref_topic=28893&rd=1)
if you wish to do so.
 * > I am already using the ads.txt manager plugins
 * Great! This is very useful for adding an ads.txt file to your site. It doesn’t
have any functionality to add AdSense code, but it can be used for ads.txt.
 * Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

to them for assistance in resolving this issue.
 * Doesn’t Ads.txt Manager enter the AdSense Code to my site?
 * 2-3 times I have deactivated Site Kit.
 * Each time my JetPack Desktop Score has improved significantly.
 * Concerning is that concurrently my income from AdSense falls to mere pennies
a day from a few dollars a day when Site Kit is deactivated?
 * Can I deactivate Site Kit without damaging my AdSense income?
 * I could always reactivate it momentarily to review its valuable statistics.

there are many factors when it comes to using Analytics and AdSense, as there
are network requests made to these services and your site. These will have a
   performance trade off.
 * > Concerning is that concurrently my income from AdSense falls to mere pennies
   > a day from a few dollars a day when Site Kit is deactivated?
 * You don’t have to use Site Kit to have Ads on your site. Site Kit only places
a users AdSense code on thei site, but you can do this manually if preferred.
 * > Can I deactivate Site Kit without damaging my AdSense income?
 * Yes. Site Kit is not required to serve AdSense ads on your site. If placing Ads
manually, just be sure to have your AdSense code placed on your site.

 * You can place the code manually, as per this guide. Alternatively you can another
plugin if you wish. There are [many plugins](https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/9579688?hl=en&ref_topic=28893&sjid=10271141826724577103-EU#plugins)
that can be used to insert AdSense code on your site, you can insert your AdSense
code manually into your theme files, typically the header.php file.
 * The product experts over at the AdSense can assist with manually placing your
AdSense code. You’ll find the code to place by [visiting your AdSense account](https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/9274019?hl=en&ref_topic=28893&sjid=10271141826724577103-EU#:~:text=How%20to%20get%20and%20copy%20the%20code%20for%20ad%20units).

see that the code has been placed manually. Feel free to remove Site Kit now
if you wish, as ads will still be served via AdSense.

insert your Analytics code also. If you need assistance with this, feel free
