 * I was trying to resize my header which I’ve done before. It somehow gets lost
   everytime I update the WordPress version. Now the website isn’t working at all
   and I’m getting this error –
    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /home/
   makeupby/public_html/wp-content/themes/twentyten/functions.php on line 510
 * Please help!

 * Why are you modifying TwentyTen Theme files directly?
 * You need to be making your changes using [Child Themes](http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes).

 * Don’t edit the Twenty Ten theme. Your changes **will** be over-written the next
   time you upgrade WordPress. For this reason, it is recommended that you consider
   [creating a child theme for your customisations](http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes).
   Once your child theme is active, we should be able to help with the customisation.

 * Thank you for that information. I didn’t know about a Child Theme.
 * However, I can’t even get into my editor anymore. I have no idea how to fix this.
   Any advice?

 * Download a fresh copy of Twenty Ten, extract the functions.php file and upload
   it to wp-content/themes/twenyten.

 * I would need access to my editor to do that correct? Normally I would go to makeupbylacy.
   com/wp-admin to get into my website, but it won’t even let me get on there 🙁
 * I know very little about all of this, so I take everything quite literally. Do
   you literally mean go to wp-content/themes/twenyten in my browser? Because that
   just takes me to a forum.
 * Sorry you’re dealing with my lack of knowledge here.

 * No. Download Twenty Ten via [http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/](http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/)

   Upload functions.php using [FTP](http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients) or whatever
   file management application your host provides.

 * I finally completed that step, but the error code is still there & I’m still
   unable to to open my editor. Any other ideas or are there more steps involved?
 * Thank you so much for your help!

 * Are you sure that you uploaded the functions.php to the right theme folder?

 * Yes. Someone from my hosting company walked me through it. Right now my hosting
   company is going to try to restore the functions.php folder and hopefully that
   will do the trick. I’ll let you know. Thanks again for you help 🙂

 * It has been restored by my host provider but it still is giving me an error message.
   I don’t know what to do! Here is the error message –
 * Fatal error: Call to undefined function add_action() in /home/makeupby/public_html/
   wp-includes/functions.php on line 51
 * Any ideas? 🙁
