 * Hello
    I tried several times to change the e-mail address of my wordpress admin
   account. That works fine, but every time I did this, the two factor mail from
   IThemes security is send to my old admin e-mail address.
 * What can I do to solve this problem?
 * Is there any file within the plugin folder at my webserver I can check?
 * best regards
    Andreas

 * Hi,
 * Even after the new email address is confirmed?
 * (WordPress indicates: **The new address will not become active until confirmed.**)
 * +++++ To prevent any confusion, I’m not iThemes +++++

 * Yes, and I have this Problem at 4 websites. And if I check the e-Mail address
   in wordpress, it’s the new one.

 * Hmm, weird.
 * Just to be sure we are on the same page, you are changing the value of the “**
   Email (required)**” field in a(n admin) user’s profile ?
 * Not the value of the “**Administration Email Address**” field in General Settings?
 * Just asking to be sure 😉

 * yes,
    I changed the e-mail address in dashboard – settings – Administrator-E-
   Mail-Address
 * I hope the name for the menu in english is the same, because I’m using the german
   version of wordpress.

 * Ah, right.
 * Let me first explain a bit about two-factor.
 * When Two-factor is enabled and the **email** provider is selected as primary
   by a user in his/her profile, upon (correct) login of that user an email is send
   to him/her with the Two-factor authentication code.
 * To send that email **the users email address** is used. Not the “Administration
   Email Address”.
    This makes sense because user a has a different email address
   than user b etc.
 * So when user a (correctly) enters his/her user credentials the two factor email
   is send to that users email address.
 * Likewise when user b (correctly) enters his/her user credentials the two factor
   email is send to that users email address.
 * So that is why a change in the “Administration Email Address” value will not
   affect who receives the Two-factor authentication code email.
 * Hope this helps.

 * Ah OK, thanks. But I’m the administrator and I login as an adminstrator.
 * What should I do to configure a new e-mail address for the Two-factor authentication?

 * You should edit that administrator user his/her profile and change his/her email
   address there.
 * Simply log into the Dashboard as that administrator user.
    Then navigate to the
   Users > Profile menu option. Change the value of the “E-mail (erforderlich)”
   field. Finally click on the **Profil aktualisieren ** button on the bottom of
   the profile page.
