 * Hi,
 * The UK counties list seems to have a couple of issues which I thought I could
   mention, in the hope it helps keep the list up to date:
 * 1) Scotland / Argyle and Bute – the correct spelling is Argyll
    2) Greater Manchester
   seems to be missing!
 * Finally do you know why new users on my site use your list to identify their
   county, but in the WP dashboard list of users this gets translated into a two-
   letter county code.
 * I would absolutely love to be able to disable this 🙂
 * Any help or ideas would be very gratefully received!

 * Hi,
 * Thank you for the details. Will check this later this week.
 * As for the abbreviation issue. Are we talking about the Dashboard -> Users ->
   All Users page? Could you take a screenshot of what you see?

 * The spelling issue with Argyll will be fixed in the next update coming soon.
 * As to Greater Manchester. The issue is that there are multiple ways exist to
   subdivide the UK into postal areas. The plugin adds a list of [postal UK counties](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postal_counties_of_the_United_Kingdom)
   which is different from the ceremonial list. For example, Bristol is covered
   by Avon, East Riding of Yorkshire by North Humberside, etc.
 * Isn’t Greater Manchester covered by other counties on the list?

 * Hi Dan,
 * You’re probably right on the Manchester issue, but I think that nowadays Greater
   Manchester is more commonly used for a lot of the city that, say, Lancashire
   or Cheshire.
 * Is there an easy way, when I update the plugin, to keep my changes?
 * The abbreviations are perhaps something where WordPress or WooCommerce are overiding
   things, I’m not sure!
 * So currently I went through the database and changed all instances of, for instance,
   London being changed to LO, and now it’s only happening to new orders on the
   site. I see it in all instances of the user address data on listing pages, as
   you mentions, such as Users, Subscriptions, and on the individual WooCommerce
   Subscription page, but it’s written in full on the actual WordPress individual
   user dashboard page.
 * The problem is that when searching for users from a particular area if I just
   search London it misses the ones marked as LO, so I either don’t get a complete
   list or have to do two searches 🙁
 * I do suspect this may not be a problem with your plugin, but if you have any
   ideas as to how to fix it I’d be hugely grateful!
 * (not sure how to attach a screenshot here)

 * Do you have an idea about a better list of UK postal areas? We might think about
   adding it as an alternative to the existing list.
 * If you change some files in the plugin sources, you have to re-apply your changes
   again with every plugin update.
 * As for the user search, it might be better to address your question to the WooCommerce
   support area.

 * Hello
 * We also had a few customer complaints about “Greater Manchester” being missing
   from the list. I think it is very well used now, I did manually change the code
   to add it. We do get orders every week using it.
 * Cheers
    Matt

    Hello Matt,
 * Thank you for adding up to the topic.
 * It’s pretty easy to add the ‘Greater Manchester’ item to the list of UK locations.
   No problem. However, the question is how to do it in a consistent way.
 * Isn’t Greater Manchester covered by other counties on the list? For example,
   Bristol is covered by Avon, East Riding of Yorkshire, North Humberside, etc.
   Since if so, it might be confusing for the customer which county they should
   choose.
 * Do you have an idea about a better list of UK postal areas? We might think about
   adding it as an alternative to the existing list.
