Unable to load popup

I am trying to install and implement the plugin but don’t see it popup on any pages. I have checked to make sure the functions are in the header and they are. When I check the page source I see that it is calling for modal dialog but nothing happens. I see another version of jquery which I suspect is the issue but I’m not sure how I should proceed with removing it as it seems to be built into my theme. Any ideas? Thanks.
