 * Hi everyone,
 * I’m trying to figure out how exactly WordPress encodes Japanese text. It works
   fine (I enter text, submit it, and the entries display correctly) BUT I can’t
   figure out how it does it. I don’t know where exactly in the source to look.
   In the database the Japanese text appears as a lot of umlauted a characters among
   other things. What exactly does WordPress do to get Japanese characters to work?
 * I’ve flagged this as support, I hope that was correct. Apologies if not.
 * Thank you,
 * Matthew
