# Unicode characters

 * Hello, I’m trying to use this in the advanced editor for a cell to create a check
   mark –
 * `<p> ✔</p>`
 * But it’s not displaying a check mark. What would I need to edit please? Many 
   thanks.

 * Can you try inserting the checkmark (via copy/paste) directly (and not the encoded
   version)?

 * that’s strange. I have no clue why this gets replaced with another character.
   
   What do you see when you now go back to the “Edit” screen? Also the wrong character?
 * Can you maybe try with other checkmark characters e.g. from [http://www.rapidtables.com/web/html/html-codes/htm-code-check.htm](http://www.rapidtables.com/web/html/html-codes/htm-code-check.htm)

   any entity code.
