# Uninstall plugins completely

 * Hi,
 * I know how to uninstall and deactivate plugins. But what i’m trying to do is 
   re-install a plugin that i already uninstalled…but when i do, it still has the
   same settings as it did before i uninstalled the plugin. I have even deleted 
   the plugin file manually, but it still keeps the settings when re-installing.
 * How can i completely wipe out any traces of a plugin before re-installing, so
   that it doesn’t hold on to the old settings?
 * Any help would be great. THANKS!

 * If the plugin didn’t have an uninstall routine, then you can’t unless you edit/
   delete the changes it made directly in the database.

 * not if you know what you are doing, but you can seriously mess things if you 
   don’t know what you are doing… However I would suggest you contact the plugin
   author and see if they can tell you what to look for.
