 * I’m wondering whether there was or would be a plugin that could identify tables/
files created/used by any plugin and delete them, making for an easy uninstall
since this option doesn’t seem to be built-in in many plugins.
 * A search on “uninstall” in wp-plugins.net didn’t return anythig relevant.

 * have you checked to see if disabling a plugin does this? if not, then you’re
probably out of luck, though I don’t see what’s so important about clearing the
   tables…

 * Thanks for your input. I don’t think that deactivating a plugin will erase its
tables (e.g., many authors do mention that it actually doesn’t).
 * Some plugin authors provide with an uninstall link in their options but not all.
 * Well, it may not be that important but why would I want to keep unused tables
   clogging my install?
