# Update author template variable

 * Hi everyone,
    I’m using Author Template to display information about the current
   author. This is mainly useful when viewing static information like first name
   last name etc.. but what if I’ve created new custom field/variable and I want
   this variable to be automatically updated in real time when the author page is
   accessed?
 * For example let’s say I’ve created variable called views, how can I make $curauth-
   >views to be updated each time this specific author page is accessed (I’m not
   talking about the function how can I track profile views I’m asking about the
   process of updating variable)
