# Update core doesn’t update

 * I heard that there was an automatic updating feature. I tried it with my [site](http://ncwebdesigner.info/)
   because of version 2.7.1 and I got [this page](http://ncwebdesigner.info/coreproblem.png).
   I tried it with another site and it did it immediately. What is up?

 * probably a server hang
    delete the .maintenance file in wordpress root if present
   check and see if blog really updated if not, try again

 * It was the Automatic Upgrade plugin. Saw the sticky topic and that helped.
