# Update error

 * Recently got this error when trying to update the plugin. I think it’s due to
   having removed a contract developer off of the site and he is the one that installed
   the plugin, maybe?
 * Update failed: The update cannot be installed because some files could not be
   copied. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions.
 * What’s the best way to resolve without losing all of the data I’ve already saved?

 * You can delete the plugin and then re-install it.
 * No data will be lost.
