 * Hi – When I try to update any of the BoldGrid plugins (Builder, Total Upkeep,
   Inspiration, etc) under the WPZOOM theme Inspiro, I am getting errors and it
   won’t allow me to update. It puts me in maintenance mode and I have to remove
   the .maintenance file to get admin to work again (it does not break the site).
   I used to have no issue updating, and all my other plugins update without issue.
   Can you help? Thanks.

 * Hi [@teso](https://wordpress.org/support/users/teso/) ,
 * Thanks for reaching out! Since you’re using the **Inspiro** theme by WPZOOM,
   it’s possible that the theme is conflicting with the BoldGrid plugins. You can
   try switching to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Twenty-Three) temporarily
   and then run the updates. If the updates work with the default theme, there might
   be a conflict with **Inspiro**. You can report this to WPZOOM’s support for further
   assistance.
 * Conflicts between plugins can cause updates to fail in the same way. To diagnose,
   disable all non-BoldGrid plugins, then try updating the BoldGrid plugins again.
   If the update succeeds, re-enable your other plugins one by one to identify if
   any are causing the conflict.
 * Some questions, have updates ever worked properly or do have they always caused
   the maintenance screen? Are the plugins actually updating at all or do they just
   stall out during the process? If you have [error logging](https://www.boldgrid.com/support/wordpress-tutorials/how-to-enable-wp_debug-in-wordpress/)
   enabled, check your **error logs** to see if any specific errors are being generated
   when attempting the update. This can provide clues on what might be causing the
   issue.
 * Also, if you’re using any caching plugins, try clearing the cache before running
   the updates. Sometimes, cached files can interfere with the update process. You
   can also try disabling the caching plugin temporarily during the update.
 * Lastly you can try manually updating the plugins:
    1. Download the latest versions of the plugins from WordPress.org or BoldGrid.com.
    2. Use an FTP client or your hosting file manager to upload the plugin files to
       the `wp-content/plugins/` directory, overwriting the old files.
 * I really hope this helps [@teso](https://wordpress.org/support/users/teso/),
   let us know if we can assist you further with this concern!
