# Update Failed error message

 * Today I tried to edit my About Me page. I’ve edited this page this a dozen times
   before without a problem, but today it gave me the following error message:
 *     ```wp-block-code
       Updating failed. Could not update the meta value of _kadence_starter_templates_imported_post in database.
       ```

 * I had one user with this issue before, but was not able to replicate.
   The Kadence
   metadata notice is just some of the first to attempt to be saved. WordPress stops
   when error occurs. Usually, it’s related to using the core WordPress importer
   and importing old content.Could you try doing these steps:
    1. Copy all of your page blocks to a new page. Save that page.
    2. If the new page was saved successfully, delete the blocks on the old page and
       update it.
    3. Reload the editor and paste the blocks again.
    4. Lastly, save the old page.

 * Before I completely rebuild the page, let me ask you about this importer issue.
 * I imported a starter template to my development environment, built the pages,
   then used WordPress’ importer to copy my pages from the development environment
   to my live site.** I did not download the starter template to the live site. **
   Could this be the reason for the this and t[he other problem](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/legacy-widgets-now-working-when-transfering-from-development-site-to-live-site/#post-18496244)
   I’m having? If I download the starter template to the live site, will it solve
   both these problems?

 * Yes, that could be done too. On the other hand, I do think that repasting the
   blocks to the page content would be safer so as not to start an import again.

 * I haven’t had time to reimport the templates on the live site. When I tried it
   on my development site, it destroyed my menus, header and footer widgets. I had
   to rebuild them from scratch. So please leave this issue open for the time being.

 * I finally got back to this. I used a plugin called Duplicate Page. The duplicate
   pages works without a problem. (Although I then had to change the URL and run
   Broken Link checker) So [@karlalevelup](https://wordpress.org/support/users/karlalevelup/)
   is likely correct in that the problem was caused by importing the page rather
   than building it in the live site.

   info, and glad to know that duplicating the page worked.
 * If it’s for replacing another page, you can delete the original page and use 
   the same page slug to the new one. This way, you don’t need to replace any existing
   links on the other pages.
