 * Hey there
 *  Writing a new post and seeing that my updates aren’t going through. Click on
   preview just goes to the loading W that never goes away also “Update failed” 
   in the top left.. Running newly update WordPress as well as jetpack plugin which
   has been updated

 * Change the permalinks setting to the default value (plain), and try to save again
   the post. If it works, change the permalinks back to the original setting

 *  Thanks for suggesting that it was set to plain, so I moved the setting to something
   different and tried again. No joy

 * Update: Thanks for the help all, seemed tied to an outdated PHP copy on my host
   which has now been corrected. All good again
