 * Every time I update the theme it takes away the google analytics codes I posted
   on the theme is there anywhere I can do it that I don’t have to keep going back
   to post the code?

   create a child theme and customization your work in child theme..

 * I created a child theme And now I updated the theme and everything disappeared
   again
