 * Hello all,
 * I am using Hueman and PHP V. 5.3 and my blog (www.viajedemilhas.com.br) is running
   very slow. At every update I make, it crashes. My shared server had 256Mb of
   memory and I added more memory to make it less worse…
 * The question is should I update V 5.3 to either 5.4, 5.5 or 5.6? Would this change
   anything? Are there any incompatibility issues with Hueman?
 * Thanks,
 * Mark

 * Hi,
 * As far as I know. Updating PHP version does not speed up website.
    I think you
   could be having a lot of plugin and some of them is heavy duty, such as woocommerce
   or jetpack plugin.
 * You can remove some heavy duty plugin or increase your server processor speed.

   Hopefully it will speed up your website.
 * Thank you

 * Hi Denzel,
 * Thanks for the response. I do have Jetpack installed… I will look into the other
   plugins to see if there is something I can delete.
 * In your opinion then it is not worth it to update the PHP version for reasons
   other than speed?
 * Thanks,
 * Mark

 * Hi,
 * In my personal experience, updating PHP version does not speed up the website,
   it all depends on installed software and server resources.
 * You only need to update PHP version when WordPress does not support that version.

   According to WordPress requirement page. [https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/](https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/)
   It supports PHP 5.2.4+ but recommends PHP version 5.6 or greater for security
   reasons.
 * Therefore, you should update in order for your website to be secure, but I don’t
   think it will speed up your website drastically.
 * Thank you
